Three Physicians Join WBGH Medical Staff

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (July 18, 2016) – Three physicians have been added to the medical staff at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Walter L. Novey, M.D., has joined the hospital’s emergency department. A graduate of Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. Novey studied medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, before graduating from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed an internship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, N.H., and a residency in internal medicine at Yale University in New Haven.
Fortunata Verdetti, M.D., has joined the medical staff as a hospitalist with Advanced Inpatient Medicine. A graduate of the University of Scranton and the Temple University School of Medicine, she completed a residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Verdetti is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Rajesh Nahar, M.D., has joined Medical Oncology Associates, Kingston, and the medical staff at General Hospital. Dr. Nahar is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Nahar graduated from Calcutta Medical College in Kolkata, India, and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York.
