Current Visitor Guidelines
Keeping everyone safe remains our first priority. Based on the decrease in positive COVID-19 cases in the community, we have made the following changes to our visitor policy. For additional questions please call the hospital directly as visitor guidelines vary for each hospital.
- No visitors with respiratory or flu-like symptoms (cold, cough, fever, muscle aches) are permitted to visit patients or wait within the facility.
- Face masks are required at all times.
- All visitors must be 18 years of age or older and will be screened upon entry.
- All visitors are asked to practice social distancing, hand hygiene and infection prevention:
- Sanitize hands when entering the hospital and when entering or exiting patient rooms.
- Cover coughs or sneezes with elbow or a tissue and dispose of used tissues in the trash.
- Sanitize hands after coughing or sneezing.
Hospitals:
- One visitor :
- Wilkes Barre General Hospital - Must be the same person for the course of the stay.
- Regional Hospital of Scranton and Moses Taylor Hospital - Strongly encourage the visitor to be a cohabitating family member.
- Visiting hours: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily (see exceptions below)
- Inpatient visitors: Go directly to the patient room and stay in designated areas.
- Outpatient procedures/surgery: One person may accompany each patient.
- Radiology and Outpatient Diagnostics: One person may accompany each patient.
Exceptions:
- Emergency Department: One person per patient (no visiting hour restrictions). Both parents/guardians are permitted for pediatric patients.
- Pediatrics and NICU: Two parents/guardians (no visiting hour restrictions).
- Compassionate care/end-of-life situations: Please speak with a member of the care team at the hospital for details.
- No visitors for COVID-19 patients or for patients awaiting COVID-19 test results. Except for end-of-life decision making and ADA situations.
- No ICU visitors are permitted at Regional Hospital of Scranton except for end-of-life decision making and ADA situations.
- No visitors are permitted at First Hospital
- Mom/Baby and Labor and Delivery: One person per patient
