Safety Improvement

Committed to Continuous Safety Improvement

Every day, we strive toward zero events of preventable harm – a standard that we believe is achievable and the only acceptable target that aligns with our responsibility to provide quality healthcare. We are continuously working to deliver better outcomes for our patients, reduce risk, and build trust in our community. Safety is a core value, embedded in our culture and in every aspect of how we care for patients.

Since beginning our work on continuous safety improvement, all of our hospitals have made significant improvements:

Moses Taylor Hospital has reduced its Serious Safety Event Rate (SSER) by 100%.
Regional Hospital of Scranton has reduced its Serious Safety Event Rate (SSER) by 96.2%.
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital has reduced its Serious Safety Event Rate (SSER) by 82%.

These improvements demonstrate our commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement.
