The Joint Center at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital hosted 87 patients who had a knee, hip or shoulder replacement at its quarterly reunion luncheon on Jan. 27 at the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion in Edwardsville.
Mary Carol Montagna, RN, orthopedic care navigator, welcomed the patients, while William Charlton, MD, spoke with the group about their progress after their joint surgery.
The reunion luncheons, which are held every three months, provide joint replacement patients an opportunity to meet with fellow patients and compare their recovery strides. It also allows them to talk with The Joint Center staff about their experience at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
