WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Aug. 3, 2016) -- The Prayer Shawl Ministry committee of St. Therese Church, Shavertown, recently donated handmade shawls and lap blankets to oncology patients at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
The church committee, which formed six months ago, is made up of 27 volunteers who meet once a month for a knitting circle. The shawls and blankets are offered to patients as a way to "wrap them in warmth and prayer" as they undergo treatment.
