Outpatient Infusion Unit Opens

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2017) – Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital today held an open house to introduce its new outpatient infusion department. The 3,500-square-foot area on the hospital’s second floor has been renovated and is being used for numerous infusion procedures including: chemotherapy, blood draws from central lines, bone marrow biopsy, therapeutic phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, intramuscular injections and other bedside procedures ordered by physicians.
