Doctor Honored with Fellow Award

SCRANTON, Pa. (Aug. 4, 2016) – Darlene Ann Dunay, D.O., was awarded the honor of Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians in recognition of her experience, dedication and contribution to the advancement of osteopathic family medicine.
Dr. Dunay, a primary care doctor, is on the medical staff of Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton, operates a solo practice in Old Forge, and serves as school physician in the Old Forge and Pittston Area school districts.
Dr. Dunay is the recipient of the organization’s Crest Award for her submission, “The New Crisis of the Baby Boomer Generation: Alzheimer's Disease, Can Osteopathic Medicine Make an Impact?”
Dr. Dunay earned a degree in biology from the Pennsylvania State University and a doctor of osteopathic medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2013, she received the American Osteopathic Association Guardian of the Profession Award.
She is past president of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Board of Directors and a recipient of PCOM Alumni Association's Certificate of Honor. She is the District IV Chairman of Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and a Penn State University Eberly College of Science Mentor.
