Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Commemorates Doctors’ Day with Donation to Local Organization
3/29/2023
In recognition of National Doctors’ Day on March 30th, Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital is honoring its physicians by donating five thousand dollars to the Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre.
This day is designated to thank doctors for their heroic compassion in our time of need. This is an opportunity to pause and recognize their tireless efforts and commitment to your health and the health of your loved ones.
This year, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital physicians elected to support the community by donating to a nonprofit organization in lieu of gifts that the hospital would provide to them in honor of Doctors’ Day.
“We are grateful to the doctors on our medical staff for the steadfast care provided to the thousands of patients our hospital and clinics treat each year throughout the community,” said Simon Ratliff, CEO of Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. “It is humbling to once again see them give back to the community we serve as we seek to honor them on National Doctors’ Day.”
Earlier this month, the physicians voted on what organization would receive the donation and they selected to help the Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre.
The Catholic Youth Center is a leader in the community in providing youth developmental activities with programs in childcare, summer day camp, swimming, sports, drug and alcohol prevention and life skills training.
