Commonwealth Health Unveils Endoscopy Center at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Jan. 24, 2019) – Commonwealth Health unveiled its new Center for Advanced Endoscopy at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital today.
The suite, located on the first floor of the hospital, includes four procedure rooms, 11 pre- and post-operative recovery bays and a waiting area. The revamped suite is expected to provide an improvement in the aesthetics, capacity and patient satisfaction through improved patient flow and coordination.
The staff at the Center for Advanced Endoscopy provides care for patients who need gastrointestinal and pulmonary care. This team of highly specialized experts includes gastroenterologists, endoscopists, pathologists, radiologists, oncologists and surgeons.
Speciality procedures that will be performed inside the new suite are: colonoscopy, gastroscopy, pH monitoring, esophageal motility, anal manometry, enteroscopy, Bravo esophageal pH testing, stent placement, percutaneous gastroscopy, colon decompression, bronchoscopy,endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP), flexible sigmoidoscopy and interventional procedures.
