Commonwealth Health Physician Network Welcomes New Cardiothoracic Surgeon

SCRANTON (June, 2022) - Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon, Akhila Yarramneni, M.D., recently joined Commonwealth Health Physician Network. Dr. Yarramneni brings over two decades of experience to Commonwealth Health's Heart & Vascular Institute at Regional Hospital of Scranton and has practiced at healthcare systems located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Indiana and Michigan. She is certified in thoracic surgery by American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Her areas of focus include all aspects of cardiac surgery, structural heart procedures, thoracic aneurysm repair, valve repair and replacement, coronary artery bypass grafting, and the maze procedure to treat atrial fibrillation.

Dr. Yarramneni earned her medical degree at Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India, and completed a residency in surgery at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. She completed fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY.
