Commonwealth Health Physician Network Offers Teleheath Appointments
4/14/2020
Telehealth virtual visits are now available for new and existing patients at Commonwealth Health Physician Network.
Telehealth simply means a doctor visit by phone or video conferencing using a smartphone or computer. A patient is able to talk with their healthcare provider from the comfort of their own home or other location just as they would in the doctor’s office.
Many different platforms enable physicians and patients to connect during a telehealth visit. Some work through a simple app download and registration. Others require no downloads and visits begin by clicking a link sent by email from the practice. The practice will provide instructions about the telehealth visit when an appointment is scheduled.
Some appointments require a physical examination in order for the doctor to meet the standard of care and make a fully informed decision.
But many appointments can be managed through virtual interaction.
Virtual visits may include minor illness such as colds or allergies, minor injuries such as sprains, medication management, follow-up care, chronic disease management, back pain and other specialty care.
To schedule a telehealth visit, call your healthcare provider to ask if your next appointment can be done by phone or video. For more detailed information on telehealth; visit www.cwhphysiciannetwork.net.
Commonwealth Health Physician Network accepts most major insurance plans including GHP. Many insurance plans cover telehealth visits. Check plan coverage or ask while scheduling a telehealth appointment.
