Commonwealth Health Offers Free Seminar on Back Pain

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (June 20, 2017) – Commonwealth Health will present a free community seminar on back pain at 6 p.m. July 19 at Mohegan Sun Pocono, Route 315, Plains Township.
Presenters are Carlo de Luna, M.D., a Penn State neurosurgeon, and Fred Usoh, M.D., an interventional pain management specialist. Both physicians are on the medical staff of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
The doctors will discuss the signs and symptoms of common back conditions, diagnosis and treatment options – both surgical and non-surgical -- as well as when to seek care.
Dr. de Luna earned a medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed a residency in neurosurgery and an internship in general surgery at Albany Medical College. His specialties include intraoperative imaging, tumor, spine and vascular neurosurgery.
Dr. Usoh specializes in interventional pain management and is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. A graduate of the Ross University School of Medicine, Portsmouth, Dominica, he completed a residency in surgery and anesthesiology at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., and a fellowship in interventional pain management and addiction at Ancora Pain Recovery, Northeastern Georgia Anesthesiology Services, Athens, Ga.
The event is open to the public free of charge though reservations are recommended and may be made by calling 570-552-7496. Light refreshments will be served.
