Commonwealth Health Expands MDsave to Tunkhannock

TUNKHANNOCK, PA (FEBRUARY, 2020) – MDsave and Commonwealth Health’s Tyler Memorial Hospital are working together to help, local residents without insurance or with high deductible health plans, save money and better manage their health care imaging needs. Through MDsave, patients at Tyler Memorial can save up to 60 percent on some procedures including Ultrasound, X-rays and CT scans, through transparent pricing, and educational resources. In addition to Tyler Memorial Hospital, Commonwealth Health offers MDsave at Berwick Hospital Center, Moses Taylor, Regional Hospital of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

For example, an ultrasound might cost a patient without insurance $1,000 or more, while a patient with a high-deductible plan may pay almost that amount as well. By researching and booking through MDsave, that same patient could get an ultrasound at Tyler Memorial starting from $221. Similar savings are available for most imaging services such as X-ray, CT scan, MRI and mammography.
