CHEMS Opens Wilkes-Barre Substation

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (July 17, 2015) – Commonwealth Health Emergency Medical Services held a grand opening on July 16 for its Wilkes-Barre Substation with a ribbon cutting and open house. CHEMS is the medical transportation affiliate of Commonwealth Health. The new location at 222 Conyngham Ave., will house a maximum fleet of 10 emergency response vehicles and serve nearby Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and First Hospital, Kingston. Both are part of the Commonwealth Health network. The substation will be headquartered in the newly renovated station which housed the city's Northeast Firehouse until 2004.
