Commonwealth Health Establishes Pediatric Center of Excellence at Moses Taylor Hospital
Commonwealth Health is creating a Pediatric Center of Excellence at Moses Taylor Hospital to strengthen Northeastern Pennsylvania’s medical resources for children. As part of this initiative, infants, children and adolescents admitted as patients to Moses Taylor Hospital will soon have onsite access to care from Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital pediatricians.

Wilkes-Barre General Hospital now accepting Geisinger Health Plan insurance; GHP now accepted at all Commonwealth Health facilities
Commonwealth Health and Geisinger Health Plan announced today that they reached an agreement giving Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) members access to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and the hospital's network of outpatient sites throughout the region.

Scranton Announces Bariatric Surgical Procedures and welcomes Bariatric Surgeon Gary Neale, M.D.
Gary Neale, M.D., a bariatric surgeon from Surgical Specialists of Wyoming Valley has joined the medical staff of Regional Hospital of Scranton and has begun performing bariatric surgery.
In December 2012, Dr. Neale successfully performed Regional's first sleeve gastrectomy procedure, one of the most frequently performed operations for morbid obesity in the United States.

During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Commonwealth Health encourages women over 40 who have not previously had a mammogram to schedule this potentially lifesaving test at one of its convenient regional locations.
Women may call Commonwealth Health's toll-free health line at 1-800-838-WELL to find the most convenient location to receive a mammography screening.
