Moses Taylor Hospital Maternity Teams Celebrate 22 Years and 45,000+ Deliveries

On Friday, July 22, 2022, Commonwealth Health Moses Taylor Hospital is celebrating 22 years of providing safe, compassionate maternity care to the families of Lackawanna County.
“When deciding where to go for maternity care, it’s important for expecting families to choose a hospital with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU),” said Frank Kolucki, M.D., FACOG, an obstetrician and chairman of the department of obstetrics and hynecology at Moses Taylor Hospital. “Our team of dedicated medical professionals are committed to providing expert neonatal care that meets the needs of even the most fragile of newborns.”
The hospital has delivered an estimated 45,718 babies since July of 2000; each year welcoming thousands of newborns into the world at their family birthing suites. The hospital also offers the area’s only level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which has helped earn them their reputation as Scranton’s first choice for babies.
“As we celebrate this anniversary with our staff, I want to take a moment to recognize every member of Moses Taylor Hospital’s maternity care team over the last two decades,” said Michael Curran, CEO of Moses Taylor Hospital and Regional Hospital of Scranton. “Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to provide exceptional maternity care for our patients and their growing families.”
Moses Taylor Hospital was the first hospital in the United States to earn the Perinatal Care designation by The Joint Commission. This designation demonstrates their continued commitment to providing specialized pregnancy care for mothers with gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and various existing medical conditions.
