Psychiatric Services
Inpatient Psychiatric Services for Children & Adolescents
Our 13-bed Children’s Unit is prepared to meet the treatment needs of children ages 4 through 13. The therapeutic focus of the program centers on assessment and crisis stabilization and is individualized for each child and family situation. Our primary objective is to help each child and their family deal with specific behavioral and emotional challenges, so they can quickly return to their families and active life outside of the hospital.
Our 19-bed Adolescent Unit offers assessment and effective treatment of patients between the ages of 14 and 18. The program focuses on the complex needs of adolescents and addresses difficulties such as substance abuse, trauma and relationship problems. Treatment is focused on crisis resolution and family re-engagement.
Genesis School
Patients in both our Children’s and Adolescent Programs attend a full day of education at the Genesis School, a private academic school licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Inpatient Psychiatric Services for Adults
Patients are admitted to one of five units/programs which will best meet their treatment needs. Severity of symptoms, medication issues, medical and psychiatric history are considered when determining which program will be most effective.
Our 20-bed Adult 1 Program specializes in treatment for patients with episodic psychiatric issues and for those of more advanced age or physical challenges. Patients benefit from individual, group and family therapies. The program is aimed at stabilizing the patient’s symptoms while working toward specific behavioral goals.
Our 20-bed Adult 2 Program is specifically designed for patients with concomitant substance abuse and psychiatric issues and is dually licensed for both mental health (DPW) and substance abuse (DDAP). The 12-Step Recovery Model is combined with intensive therapeutic interventions which help patients work toward recovery from drug and alcohol addiction while receiving primary psychiatric treatment.
Our 18-bed Adult 3 Program meets the needs of individuals with a history of psychiatric hospitalizations, more chronic conditions and for those with more severe diagnoses like psychosis and schizophrenia. Patients benefit from a compassionate environment and are provided with assistance and direction in daily living activities.
Our 18-bed Adult 4 Program focuses on rapid stabilization with an intensive and interactive treatment approach. This program is designed for highly motivated patients who can fully participate in a cooperative and cognitive approach to treatment and recovery.
Our 20-bed Adult 5 Program specializes in treatment for patients who benefit from a structured environment while working toward behavioral goals. Assistance and direction are provided for patients who may be experiencing recurrent psychiatric issues.
