Notice of Change Healthcare's Breach Potentially Affecting Commonwealth Health Cancer Center Patients
Commonwealth Health Cancer Center is part of The U.S. Oncology Network (“U.S. Oncology”), a community of physicians with cancer care expertise who serve patients across the country.
U.S. Oncology is supported by McKesson, which provides healthcare technology. McKesson is part of Change Healthcare, a healthcare technology company that provides services to much of the U.S. healthcare system, including U.S. Oncology. In February 2024, Change Healthcare experienced a large data breach that involved the health information of millions of patients across the country.
On July 19, 2024, we received notice from U.S. Oncology that the Change Healthcare data breach had affected U.S. Oncology patients. At this point, we do not know whether Commonwealth Health Cancer Center patients were affected by Change Healthcare’s data breach, but we encourage you to sign up for the free credit monitoring and identity restoration services that Change Healthcare is offering to all potentially affected individuals. Please go to the Change Healthcare website to get additional information on the data breach, phone numbers to call with any questions, and instructions for signing up for free credit monitoring and identity restoration services.
