Commonwealth Health Offers Primary Care Walk-In Clinic at Tyler Memorial
10/20/2017
TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. (Oct. 20, 2017) -- Commonwealth Health is appealing to the growing trend of walk-in health care by extending hours at Tyler Memorial Hospital’s Primary Care Clinic.
The family medicine practice of Michael Brown, M.D., on the fourth floor of the hospital on state Route 6, Tunkhannock, is now offering evening hours on Tuesday and Wednesday. Extended hours on those days are 4 to 7 p.m.
Both Dr. Brown and physician assistant Michelle Moffitt, PA-C, will see patients at the evening walk-in clinic.
The walk-in feature is being added to meet the increasing demand of patients who do not have a primary care physician or who need a checkup but do not have an appointment.
Appointments are not necessary and people do not need to be patients of Dr. Brown or Ms. Moffitt to use the walk-in clinic. Most health insurances will be accepted.
The trend toward walk-in clinics is growing nationally, according to a study released by global consulting company Accenture. Analysts say speed, convenience, a shortage of primary care physicians and the increased number of insured Americans have created the growing need for walk-in clinics.
The office phone number is (570) 836-6808.
